The below lesson plan is for ELA grade 5/6. The content is focused on teaching the figurative language concept of idioms. However, greater emphasis was placed on positive personal and cultural identity. The lesson teaches idioms across cultures, and highlights how idioms are culturally specific, and lose a great deal of meaning when removed from their cultural context.
