At it’s heart, education is about connection – between people, ideas and places. The outdoors is more than a hobby to me, rather it is a classroom without walls. In my exploration of place, I have learned a great deal about adaptability, perseverance and respect for the land and that informs my teaching practice on a deep level. The outdoors matter a great deal to me, and in my practice I hope to include hands-on exploration of the outdoors, and encourage my students to explore their sense of place.
